Site Preparation
We take several steps in order to provide the optimal soil for your new landscape.
First, we use equipment to “rip” the soil in order to loosen the top layer so that we can apply our soil amendments. Next we incorporate mulch and fertilizer into the ripped soil. The fertilizer we choose depends on the existing soil makeup which will be revealed to us through soil samples. The benefits of fertilizer are as follows:
- Increases the rate and depth of water penetration. Aerates the soil.
- Reduces evaporation.
- Deepens the root systems of plants and trees.
- Makes plant food in the soil more available.
- Frees trace minerals.
- Helps to prevent the soil from becoming waterlogged.
Finally, we add enough new sandy loam topsoil to mix with the soil amendments to provide the perfect growing environment for the new plant material.
Drainage
An effective drainage system must be installed in order to prevent erosion, control sediment and eliminate standing water in your new landscape. First we survey the site and locate any natural low points. Then we grade or add drain rock where appropriate to direct the flow of water away from any structures or hardscapes. We also install drain pipe, catch basins and other drain fittings in order to hook-up to any downspouts or drainage systems coming off of the house. The end result is a drainage system effective at preventing erosion and sediment movement.
Irrigation
By installing an automatic irrigation system at your property, not only are you saving time over manual watering, but you are also protecting the life of your trees, shrubs, ornamental plants and turf.
Using the latest technology and innovative products we are able to eliminate excessive water loss due to improper irrigation practices. This means that the correct amount of water is delivered to your plants on a consistent basis, eliminating over-watering and runoff.

All of our installations are performed to manufacturer’s specifications to ensure dependable performance.
Your new automatic irrigation system will allow you to control watering times and amounts based on seasonal changes and plant type to ensure that your landscape is given the appropriate amount of water at all times.
Planting
To make sure that your new plants thrive we follow a high set of standards for selecting ,as well as time-tested routines for installing, the new plant material.
We work with growers who provide us with the healthiest quality plants possible. We look beyond the visible health of the plant to make sure that the root structure is in optimal condition and there are no signs of pests or disease.
Through experience we have developed a planting plan consisting of soil amendments, proper handling of plant material and correct planting depth. These practices help prevent disease while creating an environment the plant material can adjust to. Any necessary supports for the new plants will be installed until the root structure becomes established and strong. Finally, we give the new landscape a fresh drink of water.
Adding the Finishing Touch
To top off your custom installation, we apply all of the finishing touches. This includes bringing the landscape to finish grade, laying a fresh blanket of mulch, and installing any additional features you have chosen such as furniture, pots, barbecues, etc.
Upon completion of the project, we leave the site in a broom-clean condition for you to enjoy immediately.
